I booted up FC 27 on Friday, 23 October 2026, right after work, and the first thing I saw was that familiar orange-and-black Halloween glow. Ultimate Scream is back in Football Ultimate Team, and this time it landed during Season 2: FC Heritage. My first thought was simple: here we go again. My second thought, after I saw the card art and the position changes, was: okay, EA, you’ve got my attention. 🎃

Ultimate Scream Team 1 is live for seven days, through 30 October 2026, while the wider event runs for 14 days. That means the second week kicks off on 30 October, and I’m already expecting more cards and more themed content. The promo is not just a re-skin of the same old Halloween cards. This year’s hook is the hidden side of selected footballers: unusual positions, transformed PlayStyles, upgraded attributes, and a proper reward loop that gives me something to chase beyond pack luck.
The Team 1 cards that made me stop scrolling
The headline selection is built around some genuinely weird position changes. Raphinha is the highest-rated regular card in the first release at 90 OVR as a CAM, and his 93 Pace, 88 Shooting, 90 Passing and 89 Dribbling make him feel like the kind of player who can carry a squad through a sweaty Weekend League. Cristiano Ronaldo arrives as an 89 LW with 90 Pace, 89 Shooting and 87 Dribbling, plus ST as an alternative position. Salma Paralluelo is an 88 ST with 94 Pace, which is absolutely rapid, and Dominik Szoboszlai as an 88 RB is the kind of mad scientist move I did not know I needed.
Here are the Team 1 standouts I noted first:
| Player | OVR | Position | What jumped out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raphinha | 90 | CAM | 93 Pace, 90 Passing, can also play RM, LM and RW |
| Cristiano Ronaldo | 89 | LW | 90 Pace, 89 Shooting, ST as an alternative |
| Salma Paralluelo | 88 | ST | 94 Pace, 86 Shooting, 86 Dribbling |
| Dominik Szoboszlai | 88 | RB | Balanced all-round stats, ideal for an attacking full-back |
| Fabinho | 87 | CB | 87 Defending, 89 Physical, a proper defensive unit |
| Cole Palmer | 87 | RW | 87 Pace, 86 Passing, 89 Dribbling |
The full Team 1 list also includes Corentin Tolisso (86 CAM), Selina Vobian (86 LM), Geoffrey Kondogbia (86 CB), Hakan Çalhanoğlu (86 CAM), Castello Lukeba (85 LB), Tahith Chong (85 RM), Taylor Flint (85 CB) and Junior Alonso (85 LB). The collection I could see listed 18 regular Ultimate Scream cards and five Ultimate Scream Hero cards, though not every card is necessarily available in packs. Some are tied to SBCs, Objectives or the Token Store, so I’m checking each item’s acquisition method before I start dreaming about a full Halloween squad.

Heroes are where the promo gets properly weird
The Ultimate Scream Heroes might be my favourite part. Gianfranco Zola has an 89 ST card with 88 Pace, 89 Shooting, 87 Passing and 90 Dribbling, and he can also play CAM or LW. Jaap Stam as an 88 CDM with 85 Pace, 90 Defending and 89 Physical is an absolute unit, and he can slot in at CB too. Mario Mandžukić as an 87 LW is just funny in the best way, because that is not a position I associate with him at all.
Jill Scott gets an 87 CB Hero card with 81 Pace, 85 Defending and 90 Physical, plus CDM and CM as alternatives. Juan Sebastián Verón is an 87 CAM Hero. The main Team 1 Hero selection features Zola, Stam and Mandžukić, while Scott and Verón are also part of the Ultimate Scream Hero collection and connected to additional reward content. I like this because it makes me think about squad-building differently instead of just slapping the highest-rated cards into the same old formation.
The Token Store is the real win
The Ultimate Scream Token Store is the headline change for me. According to the in-game message, I can earn Ultimate Scream Tokens exclusively by completing various Objectives during the two-week event. Those tokens can then be redeemed for rewards of my choice, including special Player Items, Evolutions and Ultimate Team packs. That is a much better feeling than praying to the pack gods and getting nothing but a dupe.
I’m planning to grind the Objectives menu properly. The tasks are under Football Ultimate Team, and each one has its own requirements, reward and expiry date. The exact number of tokens available and the cost of each Token Store reward depend on the active in-game offers, so I’ll check before I spend anything. No cap, I would rather pick an Evolution or a specific player than gamble my tokens on another pack.
SBCs, Evolutions and the Gallery Set
There are themed Squad Building Challenges too. The Featured menu highlights Player SBCs, including an Ultimate Scream version of Nick Woltemade. His card is an 85 CAM with 83 Pace, 84 Shooting, 85 Passing, 86 Dribbling and 84 Physical. As with any SBC, the players I submit are gone for good, so I’ll only complete it if the reward fits my squad. More Ultimate Scream SBCs may land during the event, and I’m keeping an eye on the expiry dates.
Evolutions are part of the reward ecosystem as well. EA confirms that earned Scream Tokens can be redeemed for Evolutions through the Token Store. Each Evolution has its own eligibility conditions, upgrade path and completion requirements, so I’ll read the details before I commit. The new Gallery Set is another nice touch: it adds Halloween-themed rewards and cosmetics, including a Tifo, and the related Objectives give me another reason to play during the promo.
The November full moon boost
One detail I am not ignoring: EA has confirmed that Ultimate Scream Player Items will receive additional boosts during November’s full moon. The in-game Live Upgrades section refers to temporary boosts during the November Beaver Moon cycle. That is not the same as the base promotional attributes on the cards, so I’m treating it as a bonus window rather than part of my permanent squad math. I’ll check the official upgrade details for the exact activation and expiry times before I plan around it.
My early verdict
After a few hours with the promo, my plan is simple: grind Objectives for tokens, try Raphinha and Paralluelo in attack, experiment with Szoboszlai as an attacking right-back, and keep some coins free for the second week. Team 1 is available for seven days, the full event runs for 14 days, and the second promotional week begins on 30 October 2026. I’m expecting more cards and more themed content then.
Ultimate Scream has enough strange position changes and reward choices to keep me interested. It is not just another shiny card drop. It is a Halloween promo that asks me to think about roles, PlayStyles and squad balance, and that is exactly the kind of weirdness I want in FC 27. I’m buzzing to see what Team 2 brings. 🎃🔥
